This time I am not going to present any recipe. It’s a shame but in the last few months I neither had spare time, nor willpower to bake cakes or muffins. I miss cakes so much but I prefer to think about this no-baking time as a temporary period of my life when I have to focus on other things. My work – life balance currently doesn’t include personal time slots longer than 1 to 1,5 h. Baking cakes and taking pictures usually takes longer, that’s why I recently haven’t had the luxury to do these activities.
But of course this is just my excuse! A really devoted baker will skip sleeping rather than preparing a weekly dessert. Which means I should just take it more seriously!
On the other hand, while not baking I managed to find new hobbies and to go back to old ones:
– Jewelry: creating my own pieces of jewelry gives me peace and happiness. As a girl that loves jewels, I am also very proud to wear my own ones.
– Writing: I became one of the authors in the wonderful site Parentland.bg I am so grateful to its founder Maria for giving me this chance!
– Reading: I read 9 books in 5 months. This is my best accomplishment ever. Now I expect that you will ask me when I have time for reading if I don’t have time for baking. I read mainly in the metro, on my way to work, and occasionally (if I am close to the end of a book) I allow myself to read a bit after going to bed. Reading has become my favourite way to relax, to switch off, to calm down and to devote time only to myself. I read even when the train is full, keeping the book with one hand and holding the bar with the other.
But because this blog is mainly food related, I promise that soon I will continue baking, coking and posting here new recipes. I won’t give up the cakes, neither the cookies. There will be more birthdays, Christmas parties and other occasions with my sweets and desserts. Soon!
